At Eastern Market on Sunday, readers flocked to the Detroit Festival of Books—Michigan’s largest book festival—to search for rare comics and unique printed treasures while local authors signed their works and live music filled the air. Amiya Carreras of Southfield joined friends at the event, showing strong local support for the love of reading.
Detroit Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike underwent knee surgery on July 20 and will miss the season, coach Dan Campbell said. Offensive tackle Taylor Decker had shoulder surgery and defensive lineman Josh Paschal had knee surgery—Decker is expected to return after the Hall of Fame game and Paschal will likely be back in early September.
