🎶 The November Detroit Jazz Preservation Concert from Vincent Chandler Series pays tribute to the 🎶 of Detroit’s Joe Henderson. Though born in Ohio he later came to Detroit to attend Wayne State.

Joe Henderson (April 24, 1937 – June 30, 2001) was an influential American jazz tenor saxophonist known for his sophisticated harmonic approach, passionate ballad playing, and fiery, flexible improvisational style. Over a career spanning four decades, he carved out a distinct voice that stood apart from dominant contemporaries like John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins, mastering genres from hard-bop and avant-garde to jazz fusion. i usually park on the street since parking is free on Sundays but if that's taken there's a lot on the NE corner of Cass and Hancock,next to the Blimpie sub shop that's usually unattended on Sundays. Cass there is great to park on as well.
