Little Makers Morning at the Creative Café

About this event

Join us at Redesign & Restoration for Little Makers Morning, a relaxed and inspiring creative experience designed for children and their grown-ups.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, our Creative Café welcomes little artists to explore their creativity through simple, hands-on projects in a warm and welcoming environment.

This Week's Project: Vintage-Inspired Christmas Cards!

Using beautiful Iron Orchid Designs (IOD) stamps, children will create two one-of-a-kind Christmas cards to share with someone special.

We'll begin with a little practice! Each child will receive a sheet of tester paper to experiment with the stamps, explore different images, and become comfortable with the stamping process before designing their cards.

Along the way, we'll introduce some fun, age-appropriate art concepts:

• Creative expression: What inspires us, and how can we turn our ideas into art?

• Composition and layout: Where should we place our images to create a beautiful design?

• Negative space: Sometimes leaving a little space around our artwork makes it even more special!

• Thoughtful creating: Who would we like to give our handmade cards to, and why?

At the end of our creative time, each little artist will be invited to share their creations with the group, tell us a little about their design, and share who might receive their cards.

It's a lovely opportunity to practice creativity, communication, and confidence in a supportive setting. Sharing is always encouraged, never required.

A Little Something for the Grown-Ups

While your little maker creates, enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, browse our collection of vintage furniture and home accessories, or connect with other parents.

Our Creative Café is designed to be a welcoming space where creativity and community come together.

Parents and caregivers must remain on-site throughout the experience. Younger children will need hands-on assistance from their grown-up.
