Alternative School presents: Musicology with Glenn Underground, ameera & Turtle Bugg

About this event

Alternative School presents Musicology at Northern Lights Lounge, an evening of soulful house music and beyond. Chicago house pioneer Glenn Underground headlines, with local selectors ameera and Turtle Bugg opening the night on vinyl.

A founding member of Strictly Jaz Unit, Glenn Underground has been a major force in Chicago house for more than three decades. As a producer, composer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist, he has developed a singular sound rooted in jazz, soul, funk, disco, boogie and the deeper side of house music.

Opening the night are Detroit’s ameera and Turtle Bugg, two dedicated record collectors with distinct musical backgrounds and a shared love for vinyl. Both bring years of digging and a wide range of influences to their selections.
