  • Triple-A reported that drivers in Michigan faced gas prices averaging $3.61 per gallon as the Iran conflict drove rates even higher in Metro Detroit. Local commuters continue to feel the pinch as they adjust their travel plans.  FOX 2 Detroit
  • Gas prices in Michigan have hit $3 per gallon, driven by seasonal shifts and tensions in the Middle East — a change that may soon impact local drivers' budgets.  The Detroit News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Southfield Public Schools reported a preliminary enrollment of 4,314 (85% are Southfield residents) for the 2025-26 academic year after last month’s student count day, marking a drop of 197 students from last year.  Southfield Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Travelers without REAL ID can use the TSA ConfirmID service (cost $45) at Michigan checkpoints; the service verifies identities in 10 to 30 minutes and is valid for up to 10 days after online pre-payment. It began nationwide on Feb. 1.  Hometown Life

  • The Pistons ended a season-worst four-game losing streak on Tuesday night by beating the Nets 138-100, with Jalen Duren scoring 26 and Cade Cunningham adding 21, including 15 assists (they led from start to finish). The team will host Philadelphia on Thursday.  CBS News Detroit
