EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sarah Abazi, 18, a senior at Southfield Christian High School, was chosen as a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program after excelling on the SAT and ACT and in extra activities. She is one of 4,000 nominees (650 semifinalists will be named in the spring). Southfield Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The southbound I-75 ramp to westbound I-696 is closing until early summer as part of the Restore the Reuther project. Bridge+drainage+pavement work will affect drivers on this key route. FOX 2 Detroit

- ➤ Health officials reported a measles outbreak on March 26 and urged residents to update vaccinations to prevent further spread; Southfield residents are advised to check with local providers for current immunization guidelines. FOX 2 Detroit
