- ➤ Yesterday, the National Weather Service placed most of southern Lower Michigan under slight risk for severe weather, with thunderstorms bringing damaging winds, large hail and a low tornado threat from noon to 10 p.m. Residents were urged to seek shelter and stay informed (updates available via local channels). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan Social Security beneficiaries will get SSI benefits today while regular payments will be issued on April 8, 15 and 22 based on birth dates. The Social Security Administration announced a 2.8% COLA increase that raised average retirement payments to about $56 per month. Hometown Life

- ➤ Lions coach Dan Campbell praised rookie Isaac TeSlaa for his improved performance last season, highlighting his contested catches and six touchdowns earned from just 16 receptions.
