- ➤ A Michigan group—Fix MI State—is offering drivers up to $800 for reporting pothole-related vehicle damage via its new Pothole Payback Contest, which selects five winners each month until June. Motorists must submit proof of damage to be considered. CBS News Detroit
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Detroit Tigers rookie Kevin McGonigle impressed fans at Comerica Park on Friday by posting four hits and a stellar OPS that earned ovations from a sold-out crowd. The 21 year old struggled finding the players parking lot but is now seen as a promising rising star for the team. Hometown Life
- ➤ Left wing Noah Dower-Nilsson signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Detroit Red Wings for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old (a third-round 2023 pick) played for Frolunda HC, scoring six goals and 10 assists in 48 games and is known as a creative playmaker who will work to improve defensively. MLive
- ➤ The Red Wings lost 5-4 to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at Little Caesars Arena; coach Todd McLellan (who stressed mental fortitude) urged the team to stay focused as they regroup for five remaining games to keep playoff hopes alive. MLive
