- ➤ Gas prices for regular unleaded in Michigan rose by about 20 cents per gallon from Monday morning to Wednesday morning, with Metro Detroit remaining steady at $3.89 while the statewide average reached $4.07, according to AAA data. CBS News Detroit

- ➤ Southfield Public Schools honored McIntyre Elementary’s legacy on March 26 as plans move to close the school by year’s end — funding a transformation into a community center linked to a nearby University K-12 campus with an opening in 2030. Southfield Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The southbound I-75 ramp to westbound I-696 is closed starting Wednesday, April 8 and will remain closed until summer as part of the Restore the Reuther project (drivers must use alternate detour routes via M-102 and M-10). Click on Detroit
- ➤ The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is offering security classes for houses of worship to learn safety techniques (prompted by a recent attack on Temple Israel) in Oakland County. The evening training will be scheduled soon based on sign-ups, with local houses given priority. Southfield Sun
