Good morning, Southfield.

Many major retailers will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 20 (including Target, Costco, Sam’s Club, Lowe’s, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, JCPenney, Kohl’s and Macy’s) while stores such as Meijer, Kroger, Walmart, Home Depot and Tractor Supply Co. will operate on regular hours.

Banks will be closed as they normally are on Sundays and some establishments offer varying hours, so Southfield shoppers should confirm local times for holiday errands.

Authorities charged an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old with carjacking a DoorDash driver from Southfield and leading a police chase after one suspect reportedly threatened the victim with a gun—stealing his 2023 Dodge Charger.

Authorities are seeking tips to find a man of interest — a light-complexioned man with dark hair who wore a grey sweatshirt, dark grey pants, black and white sneakers and a large black puffy coat — seen leaving the scene around 8:30 a.m. on March 22 after fires were set at the historic former Bushnell Congregational Church near the Southfield Freeway and a similar suspect was seen at 2 a.m. setting fire to a dumpster near a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant.
