- ➤ The Southfield-based Five Lakes Silver Band won the national championship at the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne and will represent the US at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade in July, then perform a free concert at 6:30 p.m. on May 3 at Davison High School (1250 N Oak Road). MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oakland County will receive $1.2 million from FEMA to upgrade stormwater management by adding wetlands, restoring a stream bank and building water control structures to lower flooding on Telegraph Road and County Center Drive (the county covers 10% of costs) as part of the last $1.8 million grant installment.
