CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On April 12 at 4:40 a.m., Southfield police stopped an armed carjacking on 12 Mile Road when masked suspects held a 20-year-old DoorDash driver at gunpoint and stole his Dodge Charger after a high-speed chase reaching 125 mph, and they arrested a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old— with the older suspect facing a $250,000 bail. - ➤ Ignacio Ruiz-Saldias, a Chilean national, was convicted in Oakland County for his role in a series of home invasions and he will be sentenced on June 16—he faces up to 20 years for running a criminal enterprise and additional penalties on three counts of conspiracy to commit home invasion.
