ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Southfield, Farmington, and Farmington Hills approved a plan to thin the deer herd by hiring USDA sharpshooters to cull deer beginning in January 2026 after a decade-long study and a referendum showed the need for action. The nighttime culls (using thermal imaging and silencers in parks and private lands) will run annually for three to five years to lessen car-deer crashes and donate venison to local food banks.
