- ➤ The Tigers placed Carpenter on the 10-day injured list following his left shoulder sprain at Saturday’s Kansas City game and called up infielder Gage Workman from Toledo to take his spot — while Verlander was transferred to the 60-day injured list and is expected to return May 31. MLive
- ➤ Three more Red Wings players join the World Championship. Forward Emmitt Finnie, goaltender Cam Talbot, and defenseman Moritz Seider commit to playing in Zurich and Fribourg from Friday to May 31, with Finnie making his Team Canada debut while Talbot and Seider return for their second and fifth appearances.
