  • Federal officials are considering suspending the gas tax to help lower fuel prices amid the Iran conflict; on Monday, May 11, Michigan residents paid an average of $4.72 per gallon (a rate higher than the national average), a measure that could soon affect Southfield drivers.  Hometown Life
  • Gas prices in Michigan dropped 14 cents to $4.73 per gallon for regular unleaded on Monday, May 11, but AAA noted that drivers in metro Detroit still paid $4.83 per gallon, leading to about $71 for a 15-gallon fill (regional refinery issues could keep prices volatile).  The Detroit News
