  • Local Catholics face changes as the Archdiocese of Detroit unveils draft models that could end weekend Masses in 22 parishes; listening sessions show parishioners in areas like Taylor and Detroit have mixed feelings about church groupings that share pastors and services+ church plans will be refined this spring.  The Detroit News
  • Forgotten Harvest will deliver 40,000 pounds of food to Metro Detroit pantries after a donation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. CEO Adrian Lewis led a press conference to outline the plan.  The Detroit News

  • Southfield proudly displays over 30 public art pieces in locations such as City Hall and Evergreen Road (with 'Paper Airplanes' installed early April), according to Mayor Ken Siver and the Public Arts Commission.   • On Wednesday, May 20, an Air France flight from Paris to Detroit was diverted to Montréal when a passenger from the Congo was onboard amid Ebola concerns; officials said the passenger was mistakenly allowed and the plane landed just after 8 p.m. (no Ebola cases were reported).  Click on Detroit

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Pistons ended a 60-win season with a historic playoff series win—the first in nearly 20 years—before a lopsided defeat in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Their turnaround from a 14-win season two years ago points to potential as they work to build a championship contender.  MLive
