- ➤ More than 8,000 Southeast Michigan customers lost power after Wednesday’s storms brought heavy rain, strong winds, and a tornado near 14 Mile Road in Macomb County — the storms also left downed trees and flooding, and no injuries were reported. CBS News Detroit

- ➤ A Health Alert has announced that summer officially begins this weekend, and residents should take precautions as extremely hot weather will push temperatures into the 90s—raising the heat index to 100 and increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. Authorities advise drinking water, staying in the shade, wearing light clothing, and checking cooling systems to avoid heat stroke and exhaustion. WXYZ
