A 26-year-old from Detroit drowned after jumping from a boat into water that was 55 feet deep at Cass Lake near Keego Harbor on Sunday around 4 p.m.—a friend tried to rescue him but the effort did not save his life.

Gas prices in Michigan reached $3.29 per gallon (a 20-cent jump since last week) and leave drivers paying about $49 for a full 15-gallon tank.
