  • Matt Vierling hit a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning to give the Tigers a 2 to 1 win that ended a six game losing streak—Detroit ace Tarik Skubal struck out 11 while reliever Will Vest earned his 16th save on July 20th. The win helped the Tigers rally after struggling earlier in the series.  CBS News Detroit
  • Detroit Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike underwent knee surgery on July 20 and will miss the season, coach Dan Campbell said. Offensive tackle Taylor Decker had shoulder surgery and defensive lineman Josh Paschal had knee surgery—Decker is expected to return after the Hall of Fame game and Paschal will likely be back in early September.  CBS News Detroit
