  • Gov. Whitmer signed two new laws Tuesday that ban AI deepfake pornography showing a specific person—making it illegal to create or share such images with penalties including jail time and fines. The bills also let victims sue for damages and set penalties of up to one year for misdemeanors and three years for felonies.  CBS News Detroit
  • Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed two bipartisan bills that ban AI deep-fake pornography created without consent; the laws, sponsored by state reps Matthew Bierlein & Penelope Tsernoglou, aim to protect individuals from sexual exploitation.   • Corewell Health and Quest Diagnostics have announced a joint venture—Diagnostic Lab of Michigan, LLC—to build a 100,000-square-foot lab at the Southfield Center that will open in Q1 for state-of-the-art testing.
