CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Eight men affiliated with the Detroit Tigers were accused of workplace misconduct against women since 2023, with six already leaving and one, Ben Fidelman, facing repeated allegations as Illitch Holdings said it would review policies & meet with employees to address the claims. CBS News Detroit
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wayne County began a $70 million project to fix stormwater systems that keep streets clear and help protect basements — crews have already swept 94 miles of roadway and cleaned 235 catch basins. The plan covers 43 communities and will continue through winter 2027 — officials say it will improve water flow. FOX 2 Detroit
- ➤ After a month of hearings, Oakland County commissioners approved nearly $18 million in budget amendments—adding funds for housing, water resources and public safety—to the $1.08 billion plan for Fiscal Year 2026. They will vote on the final budget on Sept. 18 and plan recurring payments for future fiscal years. The Detroit News
