- ➤ Dozens of Detroit-area veterans received free haircuts and beard trims Wednesday at a Cuts for a Cause event held at a United Auto Workers location in Warren—where Wahl’s mobile barbershop provided services. Basketball legend Chris Webber made an unexpected visit—showing his support as Wahl will donate $100 per service to southeastern Michigan veterans. WXYZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan lawmakers have until Oct. 1 to agree on a budget or the government will shut down. The shutdown would have wide-reaching impacts as lawmakers have been trying to reach an agreement since June. FOX 2 Detroit
- ➤ Judge Hartig asked the judicial tenure commission to drop three allegations against her, including claims of refusing a mental-health evaluation and misleading the commission — her attorney argues these are legal errors rather than misconduct. The next hearing will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 on Zoom. The Detroit News

- ➤ Southfield welcomes Barkside’s second location as a dog park and bar that offers 5,000-square-foot indoor and 8,000-square-foot outdoor spaces for dogs to run and guests to enjoy drinks.
