  • On Sept. 27 at 10 p.m., FOX 2 News hosted by Hilary Golston and Dave Spencer reported that the Tigers clinched the playoffs and a decomposed body was found in Bloomfield—local viewers also received weather updates.  FOX 2 Detroit
  • The Tigers clinched a playoff spot with a 2-1 win over the Red Sox on Saturday when Jamhai Jones hit a two-run single to rally the team from an early deficit—this win eliminated the Astros from the race. Detroit still can contend for the AL Central if it gets help from other teams.  CBS News Detroit
  • Retired FOX 2 sportscaster and longtime Tigers and Red Wings broadcaster Ray Lane died in his home on Sept. 27 — he was 95 years old and spent more than six decades calling sports in Michigan, Ohio and other parts of the country.  FOX 2 Detroit
