CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 28, a gunman drove his vehicle into a Grand Blanc Latter-day Saints church and opened fire, killing five and injuring eight—before law enforcement fatally shot him as authorities investigate his suspected anti-Mormon motive. MLive
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Detroit Tigers made the playoffs and will play the Cleveland Guardians in a three-game AL Wild Card series in Cleveland, with game one scheduled today at 1 p.m. on ESPN; the series winner will face the Seattle Mariners in the next round. WXYZ
- ➤ After the Lions beat the Browns 34—10 on Sunday, D.J. Reed suffered a hamstring injury and Terrion Arnold hurt his shoulder, leaving the defensive backfield short-handed.
