- ➤ Bowers School Farm in Bloomfield Township is hosting its first fall festival this weekend with wagon rides, apple cider donuts, a pumpkin patch, and a tractor-shaped corn maze + live music planned. The festival will run every weekend in October until Halloween + tickets cost $17. WXYZ

- ➤ A local cookie-making business raised enough cash to buy tickets for the upcoming Lions game at Ford Field—its sales are climbing as operations expand. FOX 2 Detroit
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Metro Detroit will see big road projects in 2026 that will affect local drivers—three ramps at Southfield Freeway and I-94 will close on Monday and stay closed until December. MDOT will also start work on I-94 near Detroit Metro Airport and rebuild Michigan Ave in Corktown, with some projects expected to finish in 2029. WXYZ
- ➤ Lawmakers approved an $81B budget after lengthy talks, and the governor is expected to sign the plan soon. The funding plan features a new road program—adding a wholesale tax on marijuana to raise revenue for local road projects—while keeping free school meals and education funding in place. FOX 2 Detroit
- ➤ Michigan lawmakers approved a new road funding package that will add $1.1 billion to transportation from a restructured gas tax and a new wholesale marijuana tax—funds that will go to improving roads, bridges, and local transit starting next year. - ➤ Oakland County Executive David Coulter unveiled sweeping ethics reforms today after weeks of controversy over officials' side jobs—he asked the board to adopt stricter financial disclosure rules that include spouse and domestic partner reporting and create an ethics ombudsperson.
