- ➤ On Monday, Oct. 13, Oakland County officials rescued a deer trapped between I-75 barriers near Lapeer Road after it was struck by a car, using a technical truck—straps that took nearly an hour to free the animal before animal control examined it. MLive

- ➤ Michigan drivers saw gasoline prices fall when AAA reported on Monday that the average dropped to $2.92 per gallon for regular unleaded—down 17 cents since last week and 37 cents lower than last year, putting a full 15-gallon tank at about $43. Additional data from GasBuddy showed Detroit's price average fell to $2.90 per gallon, a 14-cent drop since last week. The Detroit News

- ➤ Campbell's Soup filed a lawsuit against Michigan congressional candidate Shelby Campbell and her campaign committee for using a soup can theme that the company says infringes on its trademark—she is running in the 13th District election.
