- ➤ Michigan SNAP recipients will receive only half their usual food benefits because of the federal government shutdown, MDHHS announced Wednesday — those who normally get benefits on the third, fifth or seventh will receive their partial allotment on Nov. 8 while others get benefits on their scheduled dates. - ➤ The University of Michigan teamed with Oakland County to use car GPS data to recalibrate traffic signals and reduce delays at 13 intersections in Farmington Hills and Royal Oak—$1.4 million in federal funds will soon support updates at 40 more locations. This program aims to make roads safer and ease wait times for drivers in our area. WXYZ
- ➤ Federal officials announced on Wednesday that air traffic at Detroit Metro Airport will be reduced by 10% amid a government shutdown that began Tuesday.
