ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Michigan rose 14 cents since last week to an average of $3.11 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, according to AAA—drivers in metro Detroit now pay about $3.07 per gallon. The increases mark a 13-cent rise from last month and a six-cent gain compared to this time last year. WXYZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan resumed full SNAP benefits on Nov. 10 after the state agency ordered its vendor to issue full payments following court decisions that had paused the allocations—recipients who normally receive benefits on the 9th will get their full allotment within 48 hours. Hometown Life
- ➤ Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are working to end the government shutdown that has led to over 270 flight delays and nearly 100 cancellations at Detroit Metro Airport—forcing long security lines for passengers. The Senate passed a spending bill that the House will soon vote on before the President signs it to reopen the government. FOX 2 Detroit
- ➤ A sinkhole in the right lane of northbound M-39 forced the closure of the eastbound I-96 ramps near Southfield for about one week—crews are making emergency repairs and drivers are advised to use detour routes. WXYZ
