- ➤ Walmart announced its early Black Friday deals starting November 14 through 16 with sales available in stores and online, and Walmart+ members will get five hours early access beginning at 7 p.m. November 13—this sale is part of a three-part event series that will include a sale from November 25 to 30 and a Cyber Monday online event on December 1. The company said the deals will offer discounts up to 60% off and gifts under $20—providing shoppers a head start on holiday savings. Hometown Life
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Southfield held a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 7 that featured speakers, a wreath-laying, a 21-gun salute, and a tribute where veterans placed roses in a vase. Mayor Ken Siver honored 91-year-old Korean War veteran James Elias Jackson with a certificate (he served as a combat infantry trainer and worked 49 years for General Motors). Southfield Sun
- ➤ A local lawmaker proposed a bill to ban weight loss pills and muscle supplements for minors by requiring buyers to show an ID (posted November 11th), saying manufacturers targeted young people through social media.
