  • The Archdiocese of Detroit announced it will restructure its 200 parish buildings due to lower Mass attendance and rising maintenance costs. The church will hold listening sessions in the spring and implement new pastor assignments by January 2027 — changes that may affect how local communities gather for Mass.  The Detroit News

  • Declining membership in the Archdiocese of Detroit has led to plans to restructure its 215 parishes — the Catholic community dropped from 1.5 million to 900,000 over recent decades.
