CULTURE NEWS

  • The Archdiocese of Detroit announced a restructuring plan that may lead to the closure of some historic churches and merge services. The plan will have one priest oversee several sites—while schools and cemeteries remain with nearby parishes.  CBS News Detroit
  • Canadian Pacific Kansas City’s holiday train, lit with thousands of lights, will pass through southeastern Michigan on November 22 after stopping in Windsor (5 to 5:30 p.m.) and continue toward Franklin Park, Illinois. Residents are advised to stay at least 50 feet from the tracks (a safety measure) and dress warmly as the train goes by.  Hometown Life

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Thanksgiving travel is expected to be busy as Michigan travelers can check flight statuses online at Detroit Metro Airport and other local airports using official websites and TSA apps. The FAA ended shutdown restrictions on commercial flights on Nov. 16 — and a shortage of air traffic controllers may cause delays from Nov. 25 to Dec. 1.  Hometown Life
