- ➤ Southfield will host its annual tree lighting ceremony on Dec 2 at the Southfield Municipal Campus — 26000 Evergreen Road where Santa and the A&T High School marching band will perform and light a tree. - ➤ Southfield and Lathrup Village now feature new murals from the Detroit Institute of Arts' Partners in Public Art program. - ➤ This Thanksgiving weekend, theaters in metro Detroit, Lansing and Grand Rapids are showing films like Zootopia 2 and the musical Wicked: For Good — which stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande — alongside premieres such as Wildcats and Eternity, with showings running through Sunday, Nov. 30. - ➤ AAA reported that gas prices in Michigan rose 9 cents to $3.11 per gallon, making a full 15-gallon tank cost about $46 ahead of Thanksgiving travel. The organization said its Tow to Go program will be available from Wednesday 6 p.m. to Dec. 1 6 a.m.—a move to help keep impaired drivers off the road. The Detroit News
