- ➤ Southfield’s Gleaners Food Bank, which supplies shelf-stable food to nearly 350 pantries, was awarded $20K after FOX 2 Good Day Detroit’s decorated tree won Gardner White’s Twinkle Town contest last week (a double donation day boosted the prize). - ➤ Gas prices in Michigan increased 3 cents to $2.85 per gallon on Monday, Dec.15, though they stayed 19 cents lower than last month and 20 cents below last year; Metro Detroit’s average was $2.83 and AAA forecast lower prices for holiday travelers. The Detroit News

- ➤ Southfield City Council heard public input Monday evening on Metro Bloks’ plan to build a 109,000 sqft, two-story data center on Inkster Road near I-696, which could add engineering jobs while addressing noise and environmental concerns. - ➤ Two-year-old Luna Miller got a kidney from volunteer donor Amber Fandrey over the summer after her birthday revealed health issues (at Children's Hospital of Michigan). On Monday, Dec. 15, Fandrey met Luna’s family in Westland to mark the transplant that now gives Luna a chance to live normally. CBS News Detroit
- ➤ Five Michigan health systems (McLaren Health Care, Munson Healthcare, Henry Ford Health, Corewell Health and University of Michigan Health) continue offering the hepatitis B vaccine for newborns as scheduled despite a federal panel advising a delay for low-risk babies. They say keeping the current protocol protects children from a resurgence of diseases. CBS News Detroit

- ➤ After losing 41-34 to the Rams Dec. 15, the Detroit Lions now face three crucial games to reach the playoffs — Coach Dan Campbell said the team must convert on opportunities if they hope to close the season with a win. CBS News Detroit
- ➤ Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 32 points and 10 rebounds as they beat the Celtics 112-105 on Monday night. The team built a four-point edge in the fourth quarter to notch their fourth straight win after evening a loss in Boston last month. CBS News Detroit
