- ➤ Starting Jan 1, local workers will see the minimum wage rise from $12.48 to $13.73 per hour, and tipped workers will get a 40% boost as part of the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act (2018) with a target to reach $15 per hour by Jan 2027. FOX 2 Detroit
- ➤ DTE said billions invested in grid upgrades have shortened power outages and reduced outage times by up to 70% compared to previous years—on Tuesday, 300 customers experienced brief outages following severe weather. CBS News Detroit

- ➤ The Detroit Zoo confirmed that three lion cubs born on Nov. 23–24 are healthy and gained nearly a pound in four days. They now thrive at the Royal Oak facility (the fourth cub did not survive) as part of the zoo’s conservation efforts. CBS News Detroit

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A new Michigan law will raise the minimum wage from $12.48 to $13.73 starting Jan. 1, affecting local restaurants and small businesses in Southfield who face higher operating costs — they may need to adjust staffing or prices as further increases to $15 are scheduled by Jan. 2027. FOX 2 Detroit
