About this event
Did you know that on or near the Detroit riverfront there is a number of historic structures that have been the spiritual home for faith communities throughout many decades?
The InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit Education Committee will take you down to the Detroit River for a bus tour in which history meets faith.
Three sites will be visited that stand in close proximity to the waterfront:
Mariners’ Church, 170 East Jefferson Avenue
Fort Street Presbyterian Church, 631 West Fort Street
Iskcon Temple, at the Fisher Mansion, 383 Lenox Street.
Tours will offer participants to see how these significant sites developed and adapted to various times and circumstances, and an Indian meal will be served at the Iskcon Temple.
Attendees will meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 26998 Woodward Avenue, in Royal Oak, Michigan, 48067, with boarding at 9:00 am and departure promptly at 9:30 am. The bus will return to the church at 3:00 pm
